Bundesliga Round 7: Borussia to face a tough battle from Eintracht Frankfurt

Saturday’s action in the German Bundesliga is highlighted by the clash between unbeaten Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten after six Bundesliga games, level with Bayern at the top on fourteen points. Their defensive return of only four goals conceded underlines the organisation behind their strong start. Frankfurt are eleventh on eight points and have allowed sixteen goals, a vulnerability Dortmund should be eager to exploit.

The visitors will still pose a threat if the match opens up, which is why the home win plus both teams scoring is an interesting alternative to Dortmund’s short outright price. At 2.35, that combination offers more value than simply backing the favourites, although Frankfurt must find a way through a disciplined home defence.

RB Leipzig vs Elversberg

Leipzig host Elversberg in one of the Bundesliga’s more intriguing early-season meetings. Elversberg have adapted impressively to top-flight football, earning ten points from six matches and sitting above Leipzig in the table. The visitors have scored twelve goals, underlining the attacking confidence they bring to this trip.

Leipzig have been much more erratic with three wins and three defeats, but their sixteen goals show what they can produce when their forwards click. The straight home win is heavily favoured at 1.36, below our preferred minimum. Leipzig to win with both teams scoring looks a more rewarding option at 2.20 if Elversberg maintain their attacking intent.

Mainz vs Werder Bremen

Mainz have climbed to fifth in the Bundesliga after six games, winning three and scoring fourteen goals. Werder Bremen are eighth with just one defeat, but their record of three draws suggests that too many promising positions have slipped away. Both sides have scored freely and both have conceded at least ten, so a tightly locked defensive encounter looks unlikely.

Mainz have the home advantage and the better win record, while Bremen possess enough attacking quality to threaten throughout. The straight Mainz victory is priced below 1.80. Mainz to win with both teams scoring offers a much more interesting 2.90 from the expanded result market.

Cologne vs Schalke

Cologne welcome Schalke in an important contest between clubs trying to stay clear of the Bundesliga’s relegation positions. Cologne have taken seven points from six outings, while Schalke have managed five and scored only four goals. The visitors’ defensive problems are not as pronounced as their lack of cutting edge, so they may find it difficult to chase the game if they fall behind.

Cologne have not been especially prolific either, but home advantage and a slightly better attacking return give them an edge. A home win around 1.95 meets the value requirement, while a Cologne win with both sides scoring would offer a more adventurous option.
