Dafabet Warriors will enjoy home ground advantage when they meet DP World Lions at Dafabet St George’s Park for their third CSA 4-Day Franchise Series clash starting on Thursday, November 30.
“We understand our home conditions very well. St George’s can be tricky, and we have shown over the last couple of seasons that we do understand our conditions and are hard to beat at home,” says Warriors batter/wicket keeper Rudi Second.
“We have had a pretty good start to the season. A draw against Northwest Dragons in Potchefstroom and then a really good one against Gbets Paarl Rocks last week. They have an experienced bowling and batting line-up, and we managed to get a win in three days.
“That will give us a lot of confidence going into this game against the DP World Lions. They are a really good team as well. One must never underestimate any Lions team,” he adds, saying that the Warriors will be focusing on their batting.
“We probably need to improve on our first innings batting, which has let us down in one or two games in the past season and so that is definitely a point that we will be focusing on going into this game”.
Dafabet Warriors are currently fourth in the CSA 4-Day Franchise Series log on 34.34 points. DP World Lions currently lead with 40.24 points. Neither side has lost so far in the series, after playing two games each.
The Dafabet Warriors squad for the match is Jordan Hermann, Diego Rosier, Matthew Breetzke (capt), Tristan Stubbs, Rudi Second, Sinethemba Qeshile, Patrick Kruger, Beyers Swanepoel, Renaldo Meyer, Siya Plaatjie, Alfred Mothoa, Andile Mogokane, Siya Simetu and Jiveshan Pillay.
“The team is looking very confident, and we back ourselves to get a win against the Lions,” says Second.
The match starts at 10:00 AM on Thursday.
